Art matters for Wu Hung
The distinguished service professor and adjunct curator at the University of Chicago addresses the US-China Forum 2020 and introduces his exhibition on material art from China
The University of Chicago, in partnership with the China-United States Exchange Foundation, has organized the US-China Forum for five years running. The purpose of the Forum is to develop long-term collaborations between researchers in China and researchers at the University of Chicago. In 2020 the theme of the Forum was The Matter of Art, and Professor Wu Hung delivered the closing keynote address. His talk dealt with the major characteristics of material art in China, and he also introduced the exhibition The Allure of Matter, which he co-curated for the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago.
