Crypto Fashion Week opened on February 22, 2021, featuring leading houses and designers for a week-long celebration of digital fashion and blockchain technology
Crypto Fashion Week (February 22-26, 2021) is the premiere event putting the worlds of fashion, digital art, and blockchain technology into formation. Assembling an avant-garde community of designers, artists, technologists and audiences for a week-long celebration of on-chain digital fashion, CFW is an innovative and informative way to learn what's next from the trendsetters in the space. Workshops, exhibitions, discussions, drops and much more will be hosted on platforms including Clubhouse, Twitch, YouTube, and in the metaverse.
Featured digital fashion houses, designers, and technology companies include: LUKSO, The Fabricant, KnownOrigin, round21, RTFKT, NFTYCO, Guy Marshall Studios, Digitalax, Nonhuman, DNA Block, DressX, Master of Shapes, The Dematerialised, Crucible, Complexland, Genies, Newlife.Ai, Versus Creative, Metafactory, The Immersive Kind, Dapper Labs and special guests to be announced.
Day 1 at CFW began with a livestreamed workshop titled “Enabling the web3 for creatives with universal profiles”, led by Fabian Vogelsteller, lead architect and co-founder of LUKSO. The events then moved to Clubhouse app for the discussion “Fabricated Fashions” featuring Amber Jae Slooten, co-founder and creative director at The Fabricant, and David Moore, co-founder of KnownOrigin, with an appearance by Kerry Murphy, founder of The Fabricant. This was followed by another Clubhouse discussion “A New Way to Play” featuring Jasmine Maietta, founder and CEO of round21, Adrian Pang and Benny Giang of Dapper Labs, along with the artist Sierato. The first day closed with a livestreamed demo exhibition from AR footwear company Vyking.
There are exclusive releases and limited edition drops that are part of Crypto Fashion Week. DIGITALAX in partnership with Human Rights Foundation is launching an Exclusive Social Asset Auction as part of the Wear Your Values campaign, which goes live on the DIGITALAX marketplace during CFW. The Immersive Kind will be dropping a limited edition item from the collection of Christie Lau. Lau is 3D designer in residence at The Immersive Kind. The Dematerialised is dropping HEX JERZO, their first fashion NFT, as well as their first artefact NFT, a branded exploding monolith created by MegaRetinaBurn .
Crypto Fashion Week is sponsored by LUKSO, the blockchain for the new digital lifestyle. CFW is co-organized by Universe Contemporary, a boutique crypto art consultancy, and gallery, and EXPOBLVD Projects, an independent cross-disciplinary consultancy for visual arts and cinematic arts, in partnership with Non Company, a creative network of digitally proficient humans.
